Computational Analysis

This project analyzed distributed flow through a custom designed nozzle system. A model was created with a flow path originating from a re-entrant flow cannula and dispersed to an array of outlet nozzles. The intent of the design was to minimize the pressure drop across the array so that each outlet nozzle would experience a similar pressure drop resulting in even flow through each nozzle. As shown in the result, the pressure drop across each flow path was similar and verified the design intent.

A follow up stress analysis verified that the applied pressure in order to achieve uniform flow would not result in plastic deformation or failure of the plate.
